This role is responsible for sourcing and securing reliable carrier capacity, negotiating competitive rates, managing carrier relationships, and ensuring freight moves successfully from pickup to delivery. We're looking for someone who can think on their feet, manage competing priorities, and take ownership from the moment a load is booked through delivery. You enjoy solving problems, working with data and technology, negotiating rates, and building strong relationships with carrier partners. This is a hands-on role where success comes from a combination of market knowledge, technology, communication, negotiation, and follow-through. What You'll Do Build and maintain strong relationships with our clients' schedulers by demonstrating your freight expertise, communicating consistently, and developing a strong understanding of their business and shipping needs. Source and secure qualified carriers for customer freight based on capacity, service requirements, and cost. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new carrier partners. Negotiate carrier rates while balancing cost, service, and capacity requirements. Monitor freight throughout the transportation process and proactively address issues that could impact pickup or delivery. Research market conditions, capacity, and rate trends to support carrier and pricing decisions. Analyze freight and carrier data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential issues. Use transportation technology, market data, and internal systems to efficiently source and manage capacity. Develop carrier leads through outbound calls, networking, referrals, and other resources. Verify carrier qualifications and ensure compliance with company requirements. Communicate effectively with carriers, customers, operations, and internal teams. Troubleshoot transportation issues and develop solutions quickly. Maintain accurate carrier and shipment information in company systems. Meet established productivity, service, and financial goals. Support the team with special projects and process improvements as needed. What We're Looking For Strong customer service and relationship-building skills. Qualifications Previous experience in freight brokerage, carrier sales, transportation, logistics, or a related field preferred. Experience negotiating transportation rates is highly preferred. Proven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel. Experience with DAT, Truckstop/ITS, TMS platforms, or other transportation technology is a plus. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred, but relevant transportation experience will be considered.
