Carrier Sales Representative / Freight Broker Red River Logistics, LLC — Southlake, TX Full-time | On-site Red River Logistics is hiring a Carrier Sales Representative to source capacity, negotiate rates, and help keep our customers’ freight moving. This is an active, phone-driven role. You’ll answer inbound carrier calls, make outbound calls to find trucks, and work closely with our customer service and sales teams to cover freight. We’re looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and taking ownership of their work. Compensation & Benefits Annual salary range of $45,000–$53,500, based on experience. Monthly performance incentive opportunities. Two weeks of paid time off. Gym membership. What You’ll Do Answer incoming carrier calls promptly and professionally. Make outbound calls to source trucks and cover assigned shipments. Negotiate carrier rates while balancing service, capacity, and profitability. Build relationships with reliable carriers and develop repeat capacity. Use DAT, Truckstop, and other sourcing tools to identify carrier options. Confirm equipment, availability, pickup and delivery requirements, and shipment details. Follow company procedures for carrier verification, onboarding, and fraud prevention. Maintain accurate shipment information and document carrier communications in our transportation management system. Monitor shared email inboxes and follow requests through to resolution. Communicate coverage progress and potential service issues to the team. Coordinate with customer service, tracking, and sales to keep shipments moving smoothly. What We’re Looking For Previous carrier sales, freight brokerage, dispatch, or transportation operations experience preferred. Comfort spending a significant portion of the workday on inbound and outbound calls. Strong negotiation skills and clear, professional communication. Ability to manage multiple shipments and changing priorities. Dependability, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through. A collaborative approach and willingness to help with shared phone and email coverage. Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Experience with DAT, Truckstop, and Tai TMS is a plus. You build carrier relationships that lead to dependable coverage, make sound rate decisions, and respond promptly to calls and emails.
