We want that person covering freight on our brokerage desk. As a Carrier Sales Representative at Titan, you find the truck, negotiate the rate and own the load until the proof of delivery is in hand. You'll work the load boards and your own growing carrier network to cover customer freight, vet every carrier before they touch a load, and stay with each shipment from dispatch to delivery. When something goes sideways — a late truck, a breakdown, a missed appointment — you fix it and tell the right people before they have to ask. Carrier sales is a scoreboard job. Every load has a margin, every carrier either shows up or doesn't, and every POD either comes in on time or holds up billing. If you like knowing exactly where you stand at the end of the day, you'll like it here. You don't need freight experience to apply. If you have drive, strong phone skills and a competitive streak, we'll teach you the rest. What You Will Own Carrier sales Source and secure qualified carrier capacity for customer freight using DAT, Truckstop, our carrier network and internal tools. Negotiate rates that protect margin and keep transportation spend competitive. Call carriers every day to learn their available trucks, preferred lanes and capacity. Recruit new carrier partners and grow business with existing ones who aren't hauling for us enough. Use market data — internal and external — to make smart buying decisions. Build your own book of business, measured by gross profit, load count and managed carriers. Stay current on market trends, seasonality, fuel and industry news. Load coordination Build loads and issue accurate rate confirmations with complete pickup, delivery and accessorial details. Vet every carrier before tender: operating authority, insurance, safety rating and compliance, using Highway and Carrier411. Follow Titan's carrier verification procedures to stop freight fraud and double brokering. Dispatch loads and confirm driver, truck and trailer details. Track every shipment from pickup to delivery with MacroPoint, Project44 and scheduled check calls. Schedule and confirm appointments with shippers and receivers. Manage exceptions — delays, breakdowns, detention, layovers, reschedules and TONUs — and update customers and internal teams right away. Collect PODs within 24 hours of delivery so billing is never held up. Enforce rate confirmation terms, including on-time delivery and POD requirements. Keep every load's records, notes and status accurate and current in the TMS. Work with customer sales, accounting and operations to solve problems fast. What This Role Is Not Not a slow or predictable desk. Loads, carriers and phone calls all come at once, and the day changes by the hour. Not a job you can do from your inbox. This role lives on the phone. Not a place for "close enough." A wrong pickup time, an unvetted carrier or a missing POD costs real money. If details feel like a hassle, this isn't the right fit. Not a seat where someone else chases your loads. Once you cover it, it's yours until the POD is in. What You Bring Required High school diploma or GED. Excellent spoken and written communication, with strong phone skills. Comfort in a fast-paced, time-critical, high-volume environment. Strong organization, multitasking and attention to detail. Highly motivated, coachable and self-driven. Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn new software. Able to work in our Dallas office five days a week. Preferred Bachelor's degree.
