Job Overview Zip Transport LLC is seeking a reliable, motivated, and professional Cargo Van or Sprinter Van Owner-Operator to complete a dedicated local delivery route in the West Columbia and Lexington, South Carolina area. This opportunity is ideal for an independent contractor w ho owns or has authorized use of a dependable cargo van or Sprinter van and is looking for consistent weekday delivery opportunities. The position involves loading, transporting, and delivering goods to approximately 15–20 stops per day or fewer , with routes typically taking 3.5–4 hours to complete. We are looking for someone dependable, punctual, and capable of working independently while maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and customer service. Duties & Responsibilities Safely operate your own cargo van or Sprinter van along designated local delivery routes while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Complete approximately 15–20 delivery stops per day or fewer, ensuring deliveries are made accurately and on schedule. Load, transport, and unload packages or supplies safely and efficiently. Verify deliveries and obtain customer signatures or proof of delivery when required. Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is safe and operational. Maintain accurate delivery records, route logs, and documentation as required. Communicate professionally with dispatch regarding route updates, delivery issues, or unexpected delays. Provide excellent customer service while representing Zip Transport LLC professionally. Maintain appropriate vehicle insurance, cleanliness, and operational readiness. Follow established delivery procedures, safety guidelines, and customer requirements. Work independently while maintaining consistent attendance, punctuality, and route efficiency. Qualifications & Requirements Vehicle Ownership: Must own or have authorized use of a reliable cargo van or Sprinter van suitable for local deliveries. Driver’s License: Must possess a valid driver’s license. Driving Record: Must have a clean driving record for the past 5 years . Criminal Background: Must successfully pass a criminal background check covering the past 7 years , with no disqualifying criminal history. Drug Screening: Must successfully pass a 9-panel drug screening . Insurance: Must maintain appropriate commercial vehicle insurance. Availability: Must be available Monday through Friday, with a 6:30 AM start time. Physical Requirements: Must be capable of repeatedly loading, unloading, lifting, and safely handling packages throughout the route. Experience: Previous delivery driver, courier, logistics, or owner-operator experience is preferred. Technology: Must have a reliable smartphone capable of receiving dispatch communications, route information, and delivery updates. Reliability: Must demonstrate consistent punctuality, dependability, and the ability to complete assigned routes independently. Professionalism: Strong communication and customer service skills are required. Safety: Must follow all applicable transportation regulations and safe delivery practices.
