Cargo van driver contractor

Overview As a Cargo Van Driver Contractor, you’ll keep deliveries moving safely and reliably from pickup through drop-off. You’ll drive assigned routes, handle cargo, and provide professional service at delivery locations. This role may involve cargo vans, box trucks, or personal-vehicle delivery, depending on the assignment. Responsibilities Your impact: Careful driving and accurate delivery help customers receive their orders safely and on schedule. Complete route driving and courier deliveries while following traffic regulations and applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements. Load and unload shipments; use safe lifting practices for manual handling, moving, and workplace weight handling. Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed, following warehouse operations procedures. Use mobile devices to review delivery details, navigate routes, and record completed stops. Qualifications Required: Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record; ability to meet applicable DOT requirements and safely handle assigned loads. Preferred: Delivery driver, van driver, courier, commercial driving, or commercial truck driving experience, including box truck or manual-transmission vehicles. Warehouse experience, warehouse operations knowledge, and experience with material handling equipment or pallet jacks are helpful. Familiarity with personal vehicle delivery, route driving, customer service, and mobile devices is an asset. Able to perform heavy lifting and load and unload cargo using safe lifting practices.
