Responsibilities Safely operate box trucks and cargo vans, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment while following safe lifting practices. Manage delivery routes efficiently using mobile devices for navigation and communication, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs. Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries, addressing their needs courteously. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure the truck’s safety and compliance with maintenance standards. Maintain accurate delivery logs, delivery documentation, and digital records of shipments transported. Follow warehouse operations protocols when handling materials or inventory transfers related to deliveries. Experience Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier with a focus on cargo van or box truck operations. Warehouse experience including material handling, moving goods, or operating material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks. Familiarity with commercial truck driving, including manual transmission vehicles and heavy lifting techniques. Knowledge of route planning, traffic regulations, DOT compliance, and safe lifting practices in a workplace setting. Prior experience with delivery driving in fast-paced environments that require adherence to schedules and safety standards. Strong customer service skills combined with the ability to handle physical tasks involving manual handling equipment safely.
