Cargo Claim Specialist

Your Job As a Cargo Claims Specialist, you will support multiple Koch and external businesses by researching, investigating, preparing, and filing cargo claims. This role serves as a key advocate for customers by ensuring claims are properly documented, submitted, and pursued through resolution. You will collaborate with internal teams, customers, carriers, and third-party stakeholders to gather supporting documentation, determine liability, and maximize claim recovery opportunities. Success in this role requires strong investigative skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously while maintaining a high level of customer service. What You Will Do Research and investigate transportation-related cargo claim requests to determine claim eligibility and recovery opportunities. Gather, review, and validate documentation required for claim filing, including invoices, proof of delivery, freight bills, inspection reports, photographs, and supporting correspondence. Prepare and submit cargo claims to carriers in accordance with contractual requirements and applicable laws and regulations. Communicate with customers, carriers, and internal business partners to obtain information and advance claim resolution. Maintain accurate claim documentation and records within claims management systems. Analyze claim trends and operational data to identify process improvements and opportunities to reduce future losses. Meet or exceed productivity, quality, and customer service expectations established by management. Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance claims processes, reporting, and scalability. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Experience managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment Experience working with customers or carriers or logistics providers or transportation stakeholders Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook Experience working in cross collaboration with multiple internal and external teams What Will Put You Ahead Experience in cargo claims, transportation, logistics, supply chain, or freight operations Knowledge of transportation claims laws, regulations, and carrier liability requirements Familiarity with the Carmack Amendment, cargo liability principles, and Motor Service Agreements Experience using claims management system platforms Experience researching and gathering supporting evidence for claim submissions Experience improving claim recovery rates and reduce claim cycle times At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
