Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cargo Manager to oversee the efficient handling, storage, and transportation of cargo within our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of cargo management processes, and the ability to coordinate effectively with various teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance with safety regulations. Responsibilities Manage the daily operations of cargo handling, including loading and unloading of shipments. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols during cargo operations. Oversee inventory management to maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments. Coordinate with transportation teams to schedule deliveries and optimize routes. Develop and implement strategies for improving cargo handling efficiency and reducing operational costs. Train and supervise staff in best practices for cargo management and safety procedures. Collaborate with other departments to resolve any issues related to cargo logistics. Prepare reports on cargo operations, including performance metrics and compliance audits. Experience Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of cargo handling procedures, safety regulations, and inventory management systems. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Effective communication skills for interacting with team members, clients, and vendors. Proficiency in using logistics software and tools for tracking shipments and managing inventory. A degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
