CAR WASH EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN

Location: New Braunfels, TX Pay: $65,000–$80,000+ per year Higher compensation available for highly qualified candidates JOB SUMMARY ShockWater CarWash Systems is seeking an experienced Car Wash Equipment Technician with strong hands-on knowledge of commercial car wash operations. Candidates must have a thorough working knowledge of both car wash tunnel equipment and equipment-room operations. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who understands how a complete car wash operates, can diagnose problems, and is comfortable working with tunnel equipment, pumps, motors, valves, plumbing, chemical systems, water systems, and related mechanical equipment. The position is based primarily at our New Braunfels facility and combines equipment manufacturing, installation, field service, customer support, purchasing, and inventory management. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Car Wash Equipment & Field Service Diagnose and troubleshoot commercial car wash equipment and systems. Understand the complete operation of the wash tunnel and equipment room . Troubleshoot pumps, motors, valves, plumbing, filtration, chemical delivery, and related equipment. Diagnose mechanical and operational issues affecting wash performance. Perform equipment startups, preventive maintenance, and warranty service. Troubleshoot customer equipment by phone and on-site. Work directly with car wash operators, managers, and maintenance personnel. Assist with installation and startup of ShockWater equipment. Manufacturing & Assembly Build and assemble proprietary ShockWater and ShockTube® water treatment systems. Assemble PVC piping, valves, pumps, fittings, filtration, and mechanical components. Pressure test and inspect completed systems before shipment. Prepare equipment for installation and shipping. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop. Purchasing & Inventory Order parts and materials from approved vendors. Receive and inspect incoming shipments. Maintain inventory and organize stock. Track parts usage for individual projects. Coordinate deliveries with vendors and suppliers. Documentation & Operational Support Maintain purchasing and inventory records using Microsoft Excel. Update build sheets and service documentation. Create shipping paperwork and maintain project files. Assist with scheduling installations and service visits. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Commercial car wash experience is required. Thorough working knowledge of car wash tunnel equipment and equipment-room operations is required. Minimum 3 years of hands-on car wash equipment, mechanical maintenance, or equipment service experience. Experience troubleshooting pumps, motors, valves, plumbing, chemical systems, and mechanical equipment. PVC plumbing experience. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving ability. Comfortable using hand and power tools. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong organizational and communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE WE VALUE Experience with water treatment, reclaim systems, filtration, water softeners, electrical troubleshooting, industrial controls, equipment installation, pump repair, purchasing, or inventory management is a plus. TRAVEL Based in New Braunfels, Texas . Applicants should live in or near the New Braunfels area, preferably within approximately 30 minutes. Occasional travel throughout Texas and surrounding states. Overnight travel approximately one to two nights per month . COMPENSATION & BENEFITS $65,000–$80,000+ annually, depending on experience. Higher compensation is available for candidates with extensive car wash technical experience and the ability to independently troubleshoot complete tunnel and equipment-room operations.
