Car Hauler Driver

Overview We are seeking experienced 8 and 9 car haulers to drive our trucks ( no owner operators) We have 2025 T880 with Cottrell quick loads 80 ft units. All pickups are done at one of our owned yards so there will be no waiting for loads. We will have the vehicles lined up and ready to load and go. We have yards in West Babylon (truck will be picked up and parked here) Queens, Westchester and Eastern Long Island. All deliveries will be to Manheim NY, NJ or Southern CT. Pay is per load and pay rate is based on which auction you will run to. Looking to hire for overnight shift at this time. Start as early as 7pm each night. Day and night weekends are available as well. Responsibilities Load and unload vehicles onto and from transport trailers, ensuring proper securing techniques are applied. Operate various types of trailers including flatbed, refrigerated, and tanker as required by the load. Drive tractor-trailer units over designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents that occur during transit. Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes or issues encountered during delivery. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures related to freight handling and transportation. Qualifications Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with an excellent driving record. Experience operating tractor-trailer units; experience with flatbed or refrigerated trailers is preferred. Familiarity with loading/unloading procedures and freight handling techniques. Ability to navigate various routes efficiently while considering traffic patterns and road conditions. Strong attention to detail for vehicle inspections and documentation processes. Forklift certification is a plus but not required. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
