Cannabis Production Lead – Manufacturing & METRC

We are an established, licensed cannabis manufacturing and distribution company in San Diego, operating since 2017. We are seeking a dependable, organized, and motivated individual to join our team as a Cannabis Production Lead . This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on manufacturing, coordinating production schedules, managing inventory, and ensuring that products are manufactured, packaged, tested, and labeled correctly. Our facility produces a variety of cannabis products, including pre-rolls, infused pre-rolls, packaged flower, vapes, and other products for multiple brands and white-label customers. We are willing to train the right candidate. Previous experience with California's regulated cannabis industry, particularly METRC, is highly desirable but not required. Our current Production Lead will be available to provide extensive hands-on training over the next several months. This is an opportunity to learn our operations and grow into a leadership position. Key Responsibilities Production Management Coordinate daily production activities and help manage the manufacturing team. Ensure production jobs are properly prepared before reaching the production line. Monitor production schedules, priorities, and deadlines. Oversee pre-roll manufacturing, infused pre-roll production, flower packaging, and related operations. Help maintain production quality, consistency, and efficiency. Inventory & Materials Management Track and maintain inventory of packaging materials, labels, flower, concentrates, distillate, and other consumables. Ensure all required materials are available before production begins. Identify shortages and coordinate purchasing or replenishment. Organize materials for upcoming production jobs. Maintain accurate inventory and production records. METRC & Compliance Assist with METRC inventory management, package tracking, transfers, and recordkeeping. Ensure cannabis products are accurately tracked throughout the manufacturing process. Prepare and verify compliant product labels. Help maintain compliance with California Department of Cannabis Control regulations. Maintain accurate production and batch documentation. Testing & Quality Control Coordinate cannabis product testing with licensed laboratories. Prepare testing paperwork and maintain testing records. Track laboratory results and Certificates of Analysis (COAs). Ensure products are properly tested and released before distribution. Identify and help resolve quality-control or compliance issues. White-Label Manufacturing Help coordinate production for multiple cannabis brands and white-label customers. Track incoming materials, packaging, labels, and other customer-supplied consumables. Monitor production progress and communicate job status to management. Ensure finished products meet customer specifications and production deadlines. Qualifications Preferred Experience Experience working in California's regulated cannabis industry. Familiarity with METRC. Experience in cannabis manufacturing, packaging, or production. Understanding of cannabis product labeling, testing, and compliance. Inventory management or production scheduling experience. Previous experience supervising or coordinating a small production team. Required Skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities. Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory management software. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Dependability, accountability, and a strong work ethic. Willingness to work directly on the production line while learning the business. Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain accurate records. Must meet California's legal age requirements for employment at a licensed cannabis facility.
