About the Role As the Microsoft Campus Cafe Manager, you'll be the driving force behind all cafe operations. This crucial role ensures a harmonious blend of our core values and high service standards within the vibrant Microsoft community. We're seeking a resilient leader passionate about coffee, adept at managing teams, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment. Key Responsibilities · Oversee daily cafe operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service, and consistently high-quality coffee and food offerings. · Lead, coach, and motivate cafe staff, scheduling shifts and fostering professional growth opportunities. · Implement and maintain inventory control systems, tracking stock levels, and placing orders for ingredients, supplies, and merchandise. · Foster an environment of respect and inclusivity, in line with Boon Boona's core values. · Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and ensure compliance with company and legal guidelines. · Collaborate with the General Manager, providing feedback and suggestions for cafe improvements and growth. · Resolve conflicts swiftly and effectively, maintaining a positive and productive team environment. · Initiate and manage customer engagement initiatives, including coordinating monthly art, events, and pop-ups. · Actively engage with the local community, representing the Boon Boona brand and fostering positive relationships with Microsoft staff and the wider public. About You · Proven track record in cafe management, demonstrating excellent leadership and communication skills. · Minimum two years of barista experience and strong passion for the coffee industry. · Experience overseeing retail operations, including scheduling, inventory management, and staff development. · Committed to providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming environment for all. · Balances operational duties with managerial responsibilities efficiently. · Physically capable of standing for extended periods, stooping frequently, and lifting up to 30-40 lbs. · Preferred: Certifications such as Food Safety Manager, Barista Level 1 or 2, Q Grader, etc. Benefits & Perks · Pay rate: Cafe Manager rate $28/hr · Comprehensive health benefits package (medical, dental, vision) – available after 60 days and maintained at 25+ hours per week. · Monday through Friday schedule, with no nights or weekends. · 7 paid time off days per year. · 11 paid holidays annually. · Opportunities for professional growth as highlighted above. · Complimentary food and drinks during shifts. · Complimentary 1lb of green or roasted coffee per month. · Discounted merchandise. · Free ORCA card for easy commuting on Sound Transit, Metro, and their partners. · Free parking facility. · No Tips Allowed: Please note that due to MSFT policies, employees are not permitted to accept tips.
