Description Position Summary The Cashier / Cook is responsible for preparing and serving quality food while providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced café and food service environment. This role combines food preparation, cashiering, stocking, sanitation, and guest interaction to ensure a positive dining experience for customers. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has a passion for food service, and maintains high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and professionalism. Primarily daytime hours, Monday through Friday 630am to 3pm or 8am to 430pm Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & Service Prepare and cook hot and cold food items according to established recipes and standards. Assist with food service operations, including grill, deli, grab-and-go, and other café stations. Ensure food quality, freshness, and presentation standards are maintained. Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked workstation throughout the shift. Cashiering & Customer Service Operate the cash register and accurately process customer purchases. Handle credit card transactions, and register balancing. Provide friendly, professional customer service and promptly resolve customer concerns. Greet customers and create a welcoming dining experience. Café Operations Stock beverages, snacks, disposables, condiments, and other café supplies. Assist with inventory management and product replenishment. Support catering events, meetings, and special functions as needed. Perform cleaning and sanitation duties throughout the café and food preparation areas. Help maintain coffee, beverages, and self-service stations. Perform other food service and café-related duties as assigned. Click here for benefit details related to this position. Minimum Salary: $15.90 Maximum Salary: $20.89 VS&Co provides a range of compensation for this role as shown. Your actual salary will be determined by a number of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic region, or other relevant factors. Qualifications Your Experience Minimum of 1-2 years of food service, restaurant, café, or hospitality experience preferred. Previous cooking and cashiering experience preferred. Catering experience is a plus. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Basic math skills Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills. Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality. Effective time management and organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Basic computer proficiency, including email and scheduling systems. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions. Ability to stock supplies, beverages, food items, utensils, and service stations.
