JOB SUMMARY The Multifamily Cabinet Superintendent is responsible for ensuring the success of onsite installations of kitchen and bath cabinetry, countertops, trim, and associated hardware under contract. The coordination of installations requires a combination of organization, paperwork, and communication with customer Superintendents, AWC Project Managers, and installation subcontractors. The AWC Superintendent is required to pre-walk jobsites to ensure field dimensions, drywall finish, and mechanical rough ins (plumbing/electrical) are ready for cabinet installation and know how to react when conditions are not ideal. The Superintendent will also continuously coordinate installation methods to ensure quality and that proper millwork and cabinet installation standards are being adhered to. This requires a working knowledge of installation methods as defined by industry standards. The Superintendent will serve as the direct onsite liaison as a representative of AWC and is required to clearly communicate to both the customer and the installers on behalf of AWC. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned. Project Prep & Technical Review Review and understand all installation requirements with the AWC Project Manager and AWC General Superintendent related to cabinet lines, layouts, blocking, and hardware specs. Read and understand architectural blueprints, shop drawings, elevations, and cabinet matrices, correlating them with actual field conditions. Verify all work instructions match the provided layouts and resolve any framing, plumbing, or electrical discrepancies before installation begins. Verify blocking is properly installed in walls prior to cabinet hanging. Site Readiness & Quality Control Pre-walk units to ensure walls are straight, floors are level, plumb lines are established, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) rough-ins match cabinet configurations. Coordinate installations to ensure all products within our scope, including boxes, trim, crown molding, toe kicks, fillers, hardware, and accessories, are installed properly, plumb, level, and 100% complete. Post-walk units to check door/drawer alignments, soft-close functionality, and ensure quality meets AWC and manufacturer standards. Manage the timely completion of cabinet punch lists (adjustments, touch-ups, missing hardware) to ensure seamless handoff. Scheduling & Material Management Maintain awareness of multifamily build schedules (by building/floor/unit) and coordinate efforts with the AWC Project Manager effectively. Schedule and oversee deliveries, coordinating with AWC personnel, manufacturing plants, and subcontractors to avoid site congestion. Manage onsite inventory (High Priority): Ensure cabinets and trims are stored in a climate-controlled, dry environment to prevent warping. Protect installed cabinets from damage by follow-up trades. Track and report missing parts or freight damage immediately to prevent project delays.
