Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Buyer & Scheduler to join our woodworking manufacturing team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities, coordinating production schedules, and ensuring optimal inventory levels. About the Role We are a specialty woodworking manufacturing company that produces a wide variety of high-quality laminate furniture products for our customers. We are looking for a detail-oriented Buyer & Scheduler to join our team. This role is critical to our production process, ensuring that materials are sourced efficiently and our orders are scheduled to meet customer deadlines. Responsibilities Develop and execute purchasing strategies to acquire materials, components, and services in alignment with production needs and company goals. Utilize our current system to manage procurement workflows, track purchase orders, and monitor supplier performance. Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate terms, resolve issues, and maintain strong supplier relationships for reliable delivery. Coordinate production schedules based on demand planning, inventory levels, and manufacturing capacity using inventory management systems. Maintain accurate inventory records through logistics inventory management practices, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing excess or shortages. Support logistics operations by planning transportation schedules, managing inbound/outbound shipments, and optimizing supply chain processes. Prepare detailed spreadsheets for inventory control, and production planning to facilitate data-driven decision-making. Communicate effectively across departments including manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and quality assurance to ensure smooth operations. Qualifications Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability in logistics inventory management, demand planning, and materials management. Excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and inventory control techniques to optimize production flow. Hands-on experience with production scheduling tools like MRP systems; familiarity with manufacturing company operations is advantageous. Effective cross-functional communication skills to coordinate between suppliers, production teams, and logistics partners.
