Buyer / Purchasing Specialist

Job Summary Buyer / Purchasing Specialist – Full Time Position Main Position Responsibilities · Analyze inventory levels, usage trends, lead times, and open purchase orders to maintain appropriate stock levels while minimizing shortages and excess inventory · Execute supplier and product follow-ups in regard to purchase order confirmations, shipping dates, and shipping documents · Source, review, and develop new products part numbers in conjunction with sales requests · Responsible for addressing all internal product inquiries · Correctly identify customer freight from freight invoices for the billing department · Submit purchase orders for direct shipment customers and provide the proper shipping documentation · Address all incoming requests from suppliers in regard to resolving pricing, quality and service issues · Matching and reviewing supplier invoices with receiving and shipping documents while checking for accuracy · Managing supplier performance and relationships to ensure the organization’s expectations are met · Ensure vendor compliance for quality, packaging, labeling and industry specified regulations · Responsible for negotiating resolution for quality control / defective merchandise with suppliers · Flexible to work any departmental or company project as assigned by management Required Skills And Experience · 2 -3 years relevant work experience in purchasing, inventory management, logistics, or accounting · Bachelor’s degree in business or related fields preferred · Ability to work independently while handling multiple projects concurrently · Strong computer skills required, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications · Excellent verbal and written communication skills · Detail orientated and analytical · International logistics experience preferred · Sales Force and AS400 IBM experience helpful About Consolidated – Who We Are Consolidated Electronic Wire & Cable is the complete source for standard and custom wire, cable, cordset and interconnection products.
