We repair and sell medium to large industrial electric motors and other rotating equipment used by refineries, manufacturers and municipalities located throughout Northern California. The Opportunity We are seeking an exceptionally organized and dependable Buyer / Purchasing & Sales Coordinator to manage daily sales administration and all purchasing activities related to our sales transactions. This is not a routine administrative position. On a typical day, you may be responding to requests for time-sensitive customer quotes, managing multiple open purchase orders, following up with vendors on critical deliveries, responding to changing shop priorities and making sure important details do not fall through the cracks. Success in this position requires someone who genuinely enjoys keeping many moving pieces organized. You must be able to determine what is most important, follow through with minimal supervision, communicate proactively when problems arise, and remain accurate even when priorities are changing quickly. Experience with electric motors is not required . We will teach you our industry, products and systems. Primary Responsibilities Inside Sales and Customer Support Obtain vendor pricing and prepare customer quotations Enter repair jobs and sales orders into our ERP system Coordinate customer deliveries and pickups Respond to customer and internal requests for order information Help ensure customer commitments and deadlines are properly tracked and communicated Work closely with stakeholders to support changing operational priorities Purchasing Purchase materials required for electric motor orders and repair jobs Obtain competitive pricing and negotiate with vendors Create and manage purchase orders from placement through delivery Proactively follow up on open orders and expedite critical materials Identify potential shortages or delivery problems before they affect production Maintain appropriate inventory levels Purchase shop supplies and other operating materials Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships Identify opportunities to reduce material, freight and purchasing costs Receive incoming products and resolve shipping, quantity and invoice discrepancies Who Will Succeed in This Position We are particularly interested in candidates who have demonstrated success in some combination of sales administration, purchasing, procurement, buying, inventory management, production coordination, logistics and order management. More important than any specific industry background is how you approach your work.
