About the job Title: Buyer / Procurement Specialist Location: Clayton, NC (Onsite) Employment Type: Contract Duration: 1 Year Status: Accepting Candidates About the role We are looking for an experienced Buyer / Procurement Specialist to support purchasing, materials planning, inventory control, and supplier sourcing activities within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with supply chain and production teams to maintain material availability and support operational needs. Key Responsibilities • Manage purchasing activities for MRO items, materials, hardware, and consumables. • Create, monitor, and maintain purchase orders using SAP/MRP systems and support Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes. • Plan, schedule, expedite, and track materials based on production requirements. • Identify and source suppliers, obtain competitive quotations, and maintain supplier relationships. • Support inventory planning, BOM management, minimum stock levels, and production schedules. • Assist with strategic sourcing initiatives focused on cost savings, quality, supplier performance, and operational efficiency. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. • 5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, buying, material planning, inventory management, or production control . • Strong Procure-to-Pay (P2P) experience. • Hands-on experience with SAP , preferably MM, PP, and/or FI/CO. • Strong procurement, purchasing, and supplier sourcing experience. • Experience working with MRP/inventory systems and supplier management. • Pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, or manufacturing experience preferred. • APICS or purchasing/procurement certification is a plus. Compensation: • $35.00/hour on W2
