Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Buyer/Planner with strong material planning, purchasing, and inventory‑management capabilities. This role is responsible for ensuring timely, cost‑effective procurement of materials, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and supporting continuous improvement throughout the supply chain. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience, a sense of urgency and proactive engagement, strong analytical skills inventory management, and the ability to collaborate effectively with operations, warehouse, and rest of supply chain teams.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing & Planning
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate the delivery of materials required for production; expedite as needed.
- Analyze forecasts and historical data to determine future material requirements and place purchase orders within required lead times.
- Maintain accurate supplier and material data in the Visual ERP system.
Inventory & Material Control
- Provide leadership and direction to operational and warehouse teams to ensure compliance with inventory processes.
- Monitor inventory levels, min/max controls, and perform system transactions to support accuracy.
- Lead monthly and year‑end inventory counts.
- Identify and implement improvement opportunities in inventory days, stock levels, flow, and accuracy.
Supplier Management
- Conduct regular supplier evaluations and coordinate onboarding for new suppliers.
- Communicate effectively with vendors to ensure on‑time delivery and resolve supply‑related issues.
- Support cost‑reduction initiatives related to purchasing and supplier performance.
Operational & Continuous Improvement
- Support scrap‑reduction initiatives and contribute to transportation planning for domestic and international shipments.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance material flow and reduce inventory levels.
- Participate in ISO and other audit activities as required.
Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental Expectations
Quality
- Identify and report issues related to product, process, or quality systems.
- Collaborate with production when necessary to resolve quality concerns.
- Verify effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
- Represent customer needs within internal quality functions.
Health & Safety
- Serve as a liaison between our team and suppliers to ensure materials are packaged, labeled, handled, and delivered in alignment with our health & safety requirements, coordinating with Operations and H&S as needed to support our overall safety
- Participate in safety meetings and ensure hazards, incidents, and accidents are reported.
- Practice safe work habits and help others become familiar with new processes.
- Comply with all plant rules and legislative requirements.
Environmental
- Reduce and prevent waste discharge; record and report issues related to waste handling.
- Recommend and verify improvements in waste‑reduction, recycling, or reclamation processes.
Performance Expectations

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 year college diploma or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in material planning and/or inventory management (seeking candidates with proven experience).
