Buyer/Planner Founded in 1971 in Toledo, Ohio, Fresh Products is a leading producer of away-from-home air care solutions serving end markets around the world. As a growing, entrepreneurial, family-owned company, we value innovation, a strong workplace culture, work-life balance, and doing the right thing. We are seeking a Buyer/Planner to join our supply chain team. This role turns the production plan into purchase orders, places and manages orders across roughly 100 suppliers and thousands of active parts, and keeps materials flowing so production runs on schedule without excess inventory. This full-time exempt position reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager and is based at our facility in Perrysburg, Ohio. Benefits include paid time off, 401(k) with employer matching, medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as disability and life insurance. Job Responsibilities: Review MRP action messages in SyteLine daily and convert planned orders into purchase orders, releases, and reschedules based on production needs, lead times, and stocking levels. Place and manage purchase orders for raw materials, components, and packaging, ensuring pricing, quantities, and delivery dates are accurate in SyteLine. Set up and manage blanket purchase orders and release schedules with key suppliers to reduce order volume and stabilize supply. Maintain planning parameters (lead times, order minimums, safety stock, and reorder points) and recommend changes to balance service levels against inventory investment. Partner with the Master Planner to align material availability with the production schedule and flag shortages before they affect production. Communicate with suppliers on order confirmations, price changes, and lead-time changes; hand off open-order follow-up and expediting to the Supply Chain Coordinator. Resolve PO, receipt, and invoice discrepancies with Receiving and Accounting, and support inventory accuracy between the plant and off-site warehouse. Support the Supply Chain Manager on quotes, cost analysis, supplier scorecards, and new supplier setup. Requirements: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience. 3 to 5 years of purchasing, buying, or materials planning experience in a manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems; SyteLine or other Infor experience strongly preferred. Strong Excel skills for order analysis, tracking, and reporting. Understanding of lead times, order quantities, safety stock, and how purchasing decisions affect inventory and cash. Strong attention to detail, ability to manage a high volume of transactions, and clear communication with suppliers and internal teams.
