At ACDi, we’re more than just a contract manufacturer. POSITION SUMMARY The Buyer is responsible for ensuring the supply of materials at a site to support manufacturing. The successful candidate for this position has experience in the manufacturing industry and a strong understanding of supply chain management concepts. Work in conjunction with a team of Buyers to purchase electronic components, bare boards, hardware, custom fabricated parts, and subcontracting services. Interact with Engineers, Project Managers, Quality Management, and Production to ensure that all procurement needs are met. Work with the Accounting department to ensure that all material is properly tracked and processed. Manage inventory according to policies and procedures; manage reverse logistics and returns for material that does not meet requirements. Develop vendor relationships in support best outcomes for cost, scope, schedule, and quality. Utilize current data in support of reorders. Execute on savings targets as directed by management. Conduct sourcing analyses based on supplier quotes to recommend the best suppliers to award business to. Qualifications SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Required background: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Preferred background: Bachelor’s degree (B.A or B.S.) from four-year college or university 3-5 years of related experience in purchasing for electronics manufacturing Prior experience in ERP system, Epicor preferred. Required skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving ability to help streamline procurement and inventory management processes. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Preferred skills: Proven track record of negotiating favorable vendor terms in accordance with specified targets.
