Summary:
The Buyer/Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing purchase requisitions, creating and reviewing purchase orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting stock replenishment activities. You will provide customer and vendor support through order tracking, invoicing, sourcing, expediting, and issue resolution while ensuring accurate order fulfillment and billing. The buyer/inventory specialist maintains effective communication with customers and internal teams, supports equipment maintenance, and follows all company safety and compliance procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze purchase requisitions to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Communicate with customer to clarify or obtain missing information
- Create and review purchase orders, ensuring timely and accurate processing
- Assist in regular inventory counts to maintain accurate stock levels
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies and support stock replenishment efforts
- Utilize inventory management systems for data entry, tracking, and reporting
- Manage inventory reports and ensure data accuracy
- Provide customer service and support by addressing internal and external inquiries (verbal and written)
- Collaborate with the customer VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) coordinator to ensure customer satisfaction
- Deliver face-to-face account support, resolving issues promptly and professionally
- Maintain strong communication with customers and internal team members
- Support operational functions including expediting, sourcing, quoting, and invoicing
- Ensure accurate order fulfillment and billing processes
- Resolve vending support issues in a timely manner
- Coordinate and manage required maintenance on company equipment to ensure proper functionality
- Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and compliance requirements
- Participate in required safety training programs and promote a safe work environment
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in inventory control, preferably in an industry setting.
- Proficiency in order entry and order picking, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management System (WMS) Scanner or similar inventory management software.
- Ability to stand and walk a considerable amount on a daily basis to manage inventory and support on-site customer needs to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
- General computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office applications.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
