About the Opportunity:  

The Buyer III role represents a senior-level opportunity to lead strategic procurement initiatives within the manufacturing organization. This position is responsible for complex sourcing decisions, contract negotiations, and supplier strategy for critical or high-value commodities. Acting as a subject matter expert and mentor, the Buyer III drives cost optimization, supply continuity, and risk mitigation while collaborating closely with site leadership and corporate procurement to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.

Location: Euclid, Ohio. This is an onsite position with about 10% travel.

Responsibilities: 

  • Leads strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier selection decisions.
  • Owns complex or high-value commodities and contracts.
  • Develops sourcing strategies aligned with site and business objectives.
  • Drives cost reduction, risk mitigation, and supplier development.
  • Mentors Buyer I/II roles and may act as a site or category lead.
  • Interfaces with senior site leadership and corporate procurement.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field AND 7 years of purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing operations experience – OR – in lieu of degree, 10 years of purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing operations experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • 10+ years of aerospace and/or manufacturing experience.
  • Professional certifications strongly preferred (CPSM, CPM, CSCP, CPIM).
  • Strong understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and other process optimization tools to drive efficiency and readiness.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional and matrixed teams and drive collaboration across departments.
  • Ability to analyze production data, identify trends, and make informed decisions regarding readiness planning and process improvement.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment requires you to pivot and adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. 
  • Experience with multi-site procurement activities.
  • Proven cost savings track record.
  • Experience with 3rd party indirect software, preferably Coupa
  • Willing to travel 10%

Working Conditions:

  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment. 
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk. 
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds. 
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
