🛠️ Opportunity Snapshot

The Buyer II plays a key role in supporting purchasing, sourcing, inventory management, supplier development, and material cost savings initiatives across the organization. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure strong supplier performance, inventory optimization, and operational continuity.

The Buyer II is responsible for executing day-to-day buying activities within assigned planner codes and vendor groups while supporting strategic sourcing and supply chain improvement initiatives.

This is a hybrid role; however, candidates must be based within commuting distance of Fond du Lac, WI and able to work onsite regularly to support operational and supplier needs.

💡 What You’ll Do

Purchasing & Supplier Management

  • Issue purchase orders and manage purchase order releases (PORs)
  • Coordinate subcontract operations, pickups, deliveries, and outside processing transactions
  • Maintain supplier relationships and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Execute supplier negotiations to improve total cost, quality, and delivery performance
  • Source and develop new suppliers as needed
  • Obtain business and financial references and support supplier qualification activities

Inventory & Planning Support

  • Maintain inventory levels that support customer demand while minimizing carrying and transportation costs
  • Analyze supplier performance related to pricing, quality, delivery, and continuity of supply
  • Collect and distribute forecasting data to support supplier planning and inventory programs
  • Analyze data related to materials, production, and inventory planning
  • Assist with maintaining item master control parameters aligned with inventory and production strategies

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Support development and maintenance of department metrics and reporting
  • Gather, organize, and present data related to inventory control, planning, and cost savings initiatives
  • Assist in developing tools and processes that improve supply chain effectiveness and operational efficiency

âś… What You Need to Succeed

  • Associate degree or higher education with relevant experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of purchasing, sourcing, inventory, or supply chain experience preferred
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills required
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems required
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • High attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with solid math and problem-solving capabilities
