About this Opportunity:

This position identifies commodities and expense items of moderate complexity to source and buy. As needed other duties or tasks may be assigned.



Responsibilities

  •  Purchases items that are moderately complex in nature.
  •  Runs material requirements report regularly. Manages purchase of assigned commodities; including but not limited to:
  1. Consults online catalogs or contacts suppliers to obtain price and availability.
  2. Places purchase orders to meet demand.
  3. Expedites past due purchase orders.
  4. Escalates price and/or delivery problems to supervisor.
  5. Informs Customer Account Managers of price increases.
  6. Maintains latest purchase parts delivery dates on purchase orders
  •  Prepares requests for quote, purchase requisitions and related purchasing forms.
  •  Assists with order verification, delivery, and return of inaccurate shipments.
  •  Maintains and update product catalogs, supplier files, and price lists for assigned commodity lists.
Requirements
  • 2 + years of general office experience 
  • 1 year of which involved purchasing activities, such as expediting or purchase of supplies
  •  Ability to operate personal computer.
  •  Ability to type with moderate speed and accuracy.
  •  Basic Arithmetic.
  •  Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
