The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to join our Customer Success Team as a Buyer. This key role involves working closely with Safran stakeholders and our supply chain to ensure efficient management of supply chain operations. You will act as the primary conduit for supply chain strategy and execution, collaborating across functional teams to drive resolution and deliver meaningful results. The role is responsible for driving operational excellence in supply chain ensuring seamless integration between internal systems and external partners to deliver top-tier processes and data accuracy. How I will Contribute: Act as the main liaison between internal teams and suppliers, including international partners, to streamline communication and coordinate supply chain activities. Expert in data integrity and maintenance. Execute on Requisitions companywide supporting small- and large-scale program and project needs. Coordinate cross-functional activities with Procurement, Planning, Trade Compliance, Quality, Logistics, Engineering, and Operations to resolve issues. Ownership of a high level of spend on COTS parts, complex assemblies and services. Send Requests for Quote (RFQ’s), analyze quotes & place Purchase Orders (PO’s). Strong negotiations skills with suppliers (cost, terms, quality & delivery). Maintain situational awareness of supplier capacity constraints, lead-time risk, and other supply chain vulnerabilities; proactively mitigate impacts to operations. Lead supplier recovery plans for customer-critical part escalations, ensuring timely corrective actions and follow-through. Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, including Operations, Business Development, Finance, Quality and Engineering. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with internal stakeholders and external supplier leadership. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, standardize processes, and share best practices across the team. Support forecasting, demand planning, and capacity planning. Support month-end finance activities. What You Bring to Safan Federal Systems Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent military/industry experience is required. 3+ years of professional purchasing experience managing suppliers is required. Ability to read and communicate technical specifications to both technical and non-technical individuals. preferred. Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with company policies and applicable federal regulations. Prior experience working with Aerospace, Defense, and Government customers, preferred. Supplier Relationship Management Skills Navigate and resolve conflict or differing opinions with tact and professionalism Adaptive clear communication style for different audiences both locally and globally Ability to proficiently use MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Recognize the needs and concerns of others, foster trust and effectively manage interpersonal dynamics Must be able to remain in a seated position at least 50% of the time. US citizenship is required for this role. Position is based in US, occasional travel opportunities to visit suppliers. Ability to be agile and have fun!
