Buyer / Expeditor

Job Title: Buyer / Expeditor Location: Montreal/ Côte-de-liesse (ST-LAURENT) Contract Hours per Day: 8 Position Summary Bilingualism is mandatory The Buyer/Expeditor is responsible for the day-to-day execution of purchase orders and supplier follow- up activities to ensure material availability and uninterrupted supply to operations. The role focuses on transactional excellence, expediting, order confirmation, delivery monitoring, and ERP data accuracy. Key Responsibilities • Create and release purchase orders. • Obtain supplier acknowledgements and commitment dates. • Maintain current expediting information. • Follow up on late deliveries and past-due orders. • Update ERP data including dates, quantities, pricing, and supplier commitments. • Resolve receiving and invoice discrepancies. • Escalate material shortages and supplier issues. • Support RFQ activities and sourcing requests. • Maintain compliance with approved suppliers, contracts, and pricing. Key Skills • Attention to detail • Organization and prioritization • Communication and follow-up • ERP proficiency • Basic procurement knowledge • Problem solving Education • High School Diploma required. • DEC / Diploma in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. • APICS/ASCM, PMAC, or equivalent procurement certification considered an asset. Experience • 0-2 years of purchasing, logistics, inventory management, customer service, manufacturing, or supply chain experience. Skills Matrix - Top 3 Must Have Skills: - Highly Organized and detail oriented - Diligent (needs to keep expedite reports up to date weekly without exception) - Able to communicate verbally and in writing, and push back on suppliers Skills Matrix - Top 3 Nice to Have Skills: - aerospace experience - Oracle experience - experience managing and updating large amounts of data Skills Matrix - Additional Comments Aerospace experience is a great asset Technology sector Oracle is the ERP system that is used Following up with suppliers for delivery date Buyer/expeditor is first level but must be very diligent, work on their feet. Not the most structured environment, it is quite entrepreneurial in style (work within the zoo type), not too much handholding. Must be very resourceful across all levels Hardware equipment Sheet metal & machinery knowledge would be an asset
