Buyer

Summary We are seeking an experienced Buyer contractor to support purchasing for a 6-month onsite assignment. The position requires working knowledge of SAP, experience in regulated environments, and the ability to work with cross-functional Client teams and suppliers. Key Responsibilities Place purchase orders (POs) in SAP in accordance with Client purchasing procedures. Expedite material based on ERP (SAP) recommendations and action messages to support production needs. Follow up with suppliers on order confirmations, delivery dates, and open PO status. Analyze invoice discrepancies (e.g., price, quantity, or receipt mismatches against POs) and work with suppliers and Client Accounts Payable and Receiving to resolve them in a timely manner. Monitor open orders and inventory levels to help ensure material availability. Communicate material delays, shortages, and purchasing issues to Client stakeholders. Coordinate with Client Planning, Supplier Quality, and Receiving teams, and participate in BSC Supplier and Delivery meetings as needed. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in purchasing or buying within a regulated industry (medical device experience preferred). Working knowledge of SAP, including PO creation and order management. Proven experience in PO placement and expediting material per ERP recommendations. Experience in invoice management, including analyzing and resolving invoice discrepancies. Ability to resolve problems and communicate effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams. Experience with Rapid Response planning system is a plus.
