Job Summary Under the direction of the Purchasing Supervisor, the Buyer is responsible for purchasing quality and cost-effective products and services. This position improves and controls inventory levels, customer service stockouts, purchase price variances, inventory turns, and systems and processes currently in place to ensure on-time delivery. This will be achieved by maintaining HellermannTyton's IATF16949/ISO9001 Quality and ISO14001 EMS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation. Essential Functions Perform MRP purchasing. Use target inventory reports to assist in determining order quantities. Buying limit of approval $5000 Evaluate vendors Negotiate costs Control purchase price variance. Control inventory levels. Oversee and expedite purchase orders to achieve on-time delivery. Review past-due orders. Coordinate requests for quotes. Process manual requisitions. Continuous improvement to explore reducing vendor base. Assist in maintaining HellermannTyton's TS16949/ISO14001 certification by supporting corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation. Other Functions Train and assist as needed. Obtain MSDS sheets. Other duties may be assigned. Success in this role will require ERP System Target Inventory Buying System Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Microsoft Outlook What You'll Bring High school diploma or equivalent required Associate or Bachelor's degree in Materials Management or equivalent preferred. 2 + years of experience in buying function required. Previous MRP buying preferred. PC knowledge. CPM certification preferred. Must have a valid driver's license, with an acceptable driving record, along with adequate insurance.
