Reporting to the Materials Management Supervisor, the person in this role will, ​​establish delivery schedules of materials in order to meet production requirements, provide cost effective sourcing of materials and negotiate day to day purchases and plant level LOI’s​. 

Key Responsibilities Include - 

Material Scheduling - 

  • Maintains critical material information in ERP system (lead-times, pricing, safety stocks, vendor data) 
  • ​Places purchase orders 
  • ​Analyzes, schedules and expedites material according to ERP requirements 
  • ​Amends delivery dates as required 
  • Expedites material deliveries where appropriate 
  • Analysis of raw material inventory levels against production trends​  

Material Sourcing - 

  • Sources non-strategic commodities in a cost effective manner 
  • ​Prepares and evaluates quotations based on price, quality and delivery attributes
  • Assists in disposal of excess and obsolete materials/products 
  • Stays abreast of new products, materials, market conditions and general industry trends as they relate to HPS​ 

 Supplier Involvement - 

  • Provides timely forecasts to Suppliers
  • ​Coordinates Supplier activities with other departments 
  • Evaluates Supplier performance metrics (quality, delivery, cost)​  

 

 

Plant Support & Project Management - 

  • ​​Provides guidance and training to plant personnel involved in materials activities​  
  • Represents Department on assigned teams in a professional manner 
  • ​Summarizes activities, results and commitments in an effective manner 
  • ​Plans and completes Materials related projects as assigned ​  

Do you qualify? We are seeking - 

  • ​​Materials Management Diploma (or equivalent Degree)​  
  • ​​​Minimum of 2 years experience in Materials Management Field (purchasing, or production planning)​​  
  • ​​Good negotiation skills 
  • ​Problem solving, judgment and decision making skills 
  • ​Strong analytical  and organizational skills 
  • ​Good communication skills (written and oral) 
  • ​Familiarity with MS Office  
  • ​Familiarity with ERP systems​
