Position Summary Neill Aircraft Company is seeking a Buyer to support our Purchasing department. This role is responsible for coordinating the procurement, expediting, and delivery of materials, parts, supplies, and outside processing services to support production schedules and customer commitments. This position works closely with suppliers, and internal departments to monitor order status, resolve purchasing and delivery issues, and ensure materials and outside processing requirements are completed on time. Hourly Rate - $18.50 - $21.00 (Depending on experience) Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate purchasing activities from initial requirements through delivery, including materials, parts, supplies, and outside processing services. Source and evaluate suppliers and outside processing vendors based on cost, quality, delivery, and Company requirements. Negotiate pricing and delivery terms and issue purchase orders in accordance with Company procedures. Monitor purchase orders, materials, and outside processing schedules to ensure timely completion and delivery. Communicate with suppliers and outside processing vendors to obtain order updates, completion dates, and shipping information. Coordinate with Production, Inspection, Quality, and Program Coordination to communicate order status and address potential delays. Monitor materials and processing requirements against production schedules and follow up on items that may affect production or customer commitments. Coordinate tooling requirements related to production and outside processing needs. May occasionally travel to outside processing vendors, as needed, to follow up on orders, obtain status updates, and support timely completion of requirements. Maintain accurate purchasing records, including purchase orders, amendments, shipping notices, and vendor documentation. Work with suppliers and internal departments to resolve purchasing, quality, delivery, and scheduling issues. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Competencies: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Ability to understand and track materials, tooling, outside processing, and production schedules Valid driver's license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), subject to approval by the Company's insurance carrier, for occasional local travel on Company business Education and/or Experience Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred Six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
