About Sonnen:

 

Description: Sonnen, Inc. is seeking candidates for a Buyer based out of our metro-Atlanta Innovation Hub. The Buyer’s primary responsibilities include procuring materials, establishing new vendors and maintaining a strong relationship with existing vendors, keeping track of due dates, correcting incorrect shipments, and prioritizing by need-date while reporting to the Supply Chain Supervisor. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented with in-depth knowledge of Supply Chain Operations

 

This is a full-time, direct hire position 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Review requisitions generated in SAP daily and MRP at least twice each week.
  • Issue Purchase Orders according to lead time and Minimal Order Quantities (MOQ)/Economic Order Quantity (EOQ)
  • Track order confirmations and delivery dates in SAP
  • Source new parts from existing vendors and new vendors
  • Establish new vendors with support from local and global quality and engineering teams
  • Create Purchase Orders to support non-production requirements for Engineering and other departments
  • Update and ensure supplier can meet purchase order delivery date per Materials requirement planning (MRP) schedule
  • Monitor supplier performance based on delivery timeliness and quality as well as periodical site visits
  • Promptly and thoroughly address material receiving discrepancies (quantity, quality, etc.) with supplier, sonnen Logistics and sonnen Material Planning
  • Approve supplier freight, freight variances
  • Investigate missing goods receipts to closure
  • Monitor office, kitchen, and janitorial supplies. Replenish, as needed.
  • Coordinate with Quality Engineer on receiving FAI material and relaying results to supplier
  • Track quality approval in SAP as it pertains to product release.
  • Submit drawing/requirement changes to suppliers and advise implementation date to Engineering department
  • Provide follow up to the Materials department regarding delivery schedule for new purchase orders placed and changes to existing schedule
  • Recommend and implement improvements in the procurement process
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management team
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors

 

Education Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ supply chain experience in manufacturing environment
  • Previous buyer experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Preferred Associates of Science degree in business related field 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Previous SAP experience with strong focus in MRP and MPS
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications, high-level usage in Excel
  • Strong time management communication skills 
  • Strong work ethic and ability to pay attention to detail
