Buyer

The Headhunters have again been exclusively engaged by a growing and privately held non-automotive specialty distributor to find a dedicated Buyer for their growing team. This is an in-person role working for some nice people in Commerce Township / Walled Lake at a company with less than 100 employees. We are seeking an experienced candidate for this newly created position due to growth. Our ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented team player who will analyze forecasts, find new suppliers, monitor product levels and manage the entire order process for hundreds of everyday items. You will review proposals, select the best suppliers, follow up with placed orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records in the ERP system. Compensation is flexible up to an $80k base salary plus solid benefits, and you should generally work a steady 40 hour week. Responsibilities Initial preparation and issuance of Request for Quotations (RFQs) for a wide range of products that amount to a $10 million spend Process modifications to terms and conditions of purchase agreements Research vendors and perform commercial analysis on suppliers to develop more efficient processes and cost-effective solutions Negotiate pricing and terms with qualified and reliable vendors Maintain accurate and reliable inventory records Qualifications 2+ years purchasing or supply chain experience, ideally retail or wholesale or non-automotive Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or business school discipline is desirable but not required Affinity for technology like systems and MS Excel Excellent written and verbal communication skills
