Buyer About the Position: Designs for Vision, Inc., is a growing and expanding optical manufacturer for the medical field and has been in business for over 60 years. We are looking to add a member to our Purchasing Department. The buyer will work closely with Planning, Production, Engineering, Quality, Receiving, and Accounts Payable. They will be working independently and be responsible for purchasing and ensuring the timely acquisition of quality materials, supplies, and services at a competitive cost. The position manages supplier relationships, negotiates pricing, monitors supplier performance and inventory requirements. Purchasing and Ordering responsibilities: Review production requirements, inventory levels, MRP suggestions and purchasing requests to determine materials needed. Create and issue purchase orders to assigned vendors as well as confirm supplier pricing, lead times, and delivery dates through Epicor Software Monitor and expedite open purchase orders to ensure materials arrive on time and in full and resolve any issues with the vendor Conduct vendor research (evaluate supplier options, discuss prices, delivery terms, and quality standards) Collaborate with internal departments such as production and planning to optimize inventory control Help maintain accurate reorder points, order quantities, lead times, and safety stock information in Epicor Software Review and analyze purchase requirements and demand. Work with Compliance to manage and track rejected parts and their disposition through Epicor software Essential Skills and Qualifications: Experience: 1-3 years of purchasing experience Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel with a capacity to quickly learn operating systems Strong communication abilities Self-motivated and focused with a strong work etic Pay: $50,000.00 - $51,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee discount Flexible spending account Health insurance Life insurance Paid parental leave Paid time off Work Location: In person
