POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking an Experienced Buyer of Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) to join our Farmingdale, NY office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing consumer products, vendor negotiations, inventory management, and cost analysis. Experience purchasing tobacco and nicotine products is a plus. Consumer product categories may include: Edible Grocery Tobacco and Nicotine Products Candy and Snacks Beverages THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Manage purchasing activities across Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) categories, including grocery, tobacco and nicotine products, candy, snacks, and beverages. Perform inventory analysis, price book management, purchasing analysis, and vendor negotiations. Oversee purchasing activities, including grocery items, produce, and perishable products. Work directly with internal departments, vendors, and key customers. Identify alternative markets and purchasing opportunities to reduce costs and improve product quality. Analyze changes in product pricing, availability, and supply conditions to make informed purchasing decisions. Review purchase orders and authorize purchases of goods and services. Utilize experience and sound judgment to plan, prioritize, and accomplish purchasing goals. HIRING REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) Experience: Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG). Prior experience in procurement of CPG products required. Familiarity with industry purchasing practices, procedures, and vendor management. Convenience store (C-Store) distribution experience is a plus. Tobacco and nicotine product purchasing experience is a plus. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Experience with Oracle Cloud-based systems. Knowledge of E3 Replenishment Inventory systems. Excellent negotiation and vendor relationship management skills. Strong verbal, written, and telephone communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Ability to analyze inventory, pricing, and purchasing trends. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. High level of professionalism and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
