SHINE Technologies is seeking a Buyer/Planner who will have the primary responsibility of ensuring material availability to support the Project Management/Production schedules. Other responsibilities include managing inventory levels, supporting material revisions, interacting/coordinating with suppliers on a variety of topics, and supporting other business functions as required.
The base salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties and responsibilities include of the Buyer/Planner, but are not limited to:
- Maintain the integrity of MRP planning parameters (costing, lead times, safety stock etc).
- Place purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of production material as required by MRP, production schedule, and WRIKE.
- Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials, including timely resolution, communication and mitigation of future potential problems.
- Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule.
- Coordinate material flows throughout BOM changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers or materials due to new product development.
- Manage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns, and quality problems with suppliers.
- Communicate with Suppliers, both via phone and email, to ensure on time delivery and lead time accuracy.
- Generate and issue reports to Direct Manager and Project Managers to advise of deviations in delivery dates.
- Timely and precise processing of purchase orders.
- Any additional duties assigned by Manager.
- Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in buyer/planner function required
- Experience with NetSuite preferred
- Sound time management skills, strong sense of urgency, and attention to detail
- Excellent organization, communication, and follow up skills
- Experience in production and inventory control
- Experience working with machine shops, PCB fabrication, or similar experience preferred
- Comfortable interacting with engineering groups; occasionally acting as the liaison between external vendors and internal designers
- Knowledge of commonly used procurement concepts, practices, and procedures
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (e.g., standing or sitting) for extended periods.
- Ability to handle standard equipment and materials weighing up to 10 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
- Although flexible work hours may be available, shift-work schedules may be required, and extended hours will sometimes be necessary to complete required work assignment.
