Position Summary: The person in this role is responsible for procuring materials, components, and services required to support aerospace manufacturing, MRO, or engineering operations. This role ensures timely availability of quality parts at competitive costs while meeting strict aerospace, regulatory, and quality standards. The Buyer administers all changes and updates on purchase orders. In addition, this role fosters positive vendor relationships, ensuring cost effectiveness in procurement, and contributing to overall supply chain efficiency. The buyer works closely with engineering, quality, customer service, and production to support schedules and program requirements. 


The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $75,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Source, negotiate, and purchase aerospace materials, components, and services in accordance with technical specifications and regulatory requirements 

· Manage supplier relationships, including performance, pricing, delivery, and quality metrics 

· Issue, monitor, and manage purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and contract compliance 

· Coordinate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical, delivery, or quality issues 

· Review and interpret drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and aerospace specifications 

· Ensure compliance with AS9100, FAA/EASA, ITAR, and other applicable aerospace regulations 

· Conduct cost analysis and support cost-reduction and continuous improvement initiatives 

· Evaluate suppliers and support supplier qualification, audits, and corrective action processes 

· Responsible for timely updating, accuracy, and integrity of purchasing records and data. 

· Address all receiving, invoicing and paperwork issues within a timely manner, and drive to resolution. 

· Manages inventory levels to reduce inventory while ensuring supply available using lean manufacturing techniques. 

· Ensure appropriate lead times are set for new and/or existing part numbers and maintained in ERP system. 

· Monitor/expedite the PO requirements for suppliers and maintain the current commitments within the system. 

· Maintains vendor contacts, handles adjustments for replacement of substandard materials or purchase order pricing errors and carries out follow-up procedures to expedite or coordinate deliveries

Requirements

· Strong understanding of aerospace materials, components, and certification requirements

· Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (JobBoss)

· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

· Experience negotiating contracts, pricing, and delivery terms

· Proactive problem solving in a fast-paced environment, along with dynamic communication skills, and multitasked Analytical and problem-solving skills 

· Ability to manage projects, gather, and analyze data, work in team environment and meet deadlines is critical to success in this position. 

· Knowledge of accounting principles as related to procurement

· At least 2 years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in aerospace or manufacturing

· Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year college or university
