Business Operations & Digital Systems Intern

POSITION PROFILE:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Operations & Digital Systems Intern to support strategic initiatives within our 3D Printing Production environment. This role is ideal for a business school student with a strong interest in digital transformation, operations, and technical documentation. Must be attending North Carolina State University. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • SharePoint Development & Content Management 
    • Assist in building and maintaining SharePoint sites for internal collaboration. 
    • Develop and organize content to support operational transparency and team efficiency.
  • Technical & Business Documentation 
    • Draft and refine quality documentation aligned with ISO and internal standards. 
    • Contribute to business plan development through structured technical writing. 
  • Digital File Organization 
    • Support digital file structuring for Quality Management Systems (QMS). 
    • Organize operational documentation to streamline site workflows. 
  • Marketing & Communications  
    • Assist in the creation and organization of marketing collateral.  
    • Help ensure brand consistency and messaging clarity across materials.  
  • Financial & Analytical Support 
    • Provide light accounting support during business unit migration.  
    • Assist in documenting and analyzing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements.

  • Gain hands-on experience in digital systems and business operations. 
  • Develop technical writing and documentation skills in a real-world setting. 
  • Understand the intersection of marketing, finance, and operations in a tech-driven company. 
  • Contribute to meaningful projects that support Ricoh’s innovation and quality goals.
     

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications): 

Required:  

  • Currently enrolled in a Business, Management, Information Systems, or Marketing program. 
  • Strong written communication skills, especially in technical and business writing. 
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, and digital file management.  
  • Analytical mindset with basic understanding of financial documentation.

Preferred:  

  • Organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a dynamic production environment. 
  • Interest in emerging technologies such as 3D printing and digital manufacturing.

WORKING CONDITIONS, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level. 
  • Work assignments are diversified. Interpret, comprehend and apply complex material, data and instruction. 
  • Prepare, provide and convey diversified information. 
  • Minimal physical effort required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically with less than 10 lbs. (e.g., papers, books, files and small parts, etc.). 
  • Moderate dexterity.
  • Regular application of basic skills (calculator, keyboard, hand tools, eye/hand coordination.
