Business Development Manager - Perishables Logistics

We're looking for a Business Development Manager to expand business throughout the Miami market, develop strategic customer relationships, and drive revenue growth in the specialized perishables logistics sector. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven professional who understands the unique demands of moving temperature-sensitive cargo and knows how to turn industry relationships into profitable business. What You'll Do Develop and execute sales strategies to grow the perishables logistics business throughout the U.S. market. Identify, pursue, and secure new business from importers, exporters, growers, distributors, and other industry partners. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key decision-makers across the perishables supply chain. Sell integrated logistics solutions, including air freight, ocean freight, warehousing, customs brokerage, and value-added services. Develop customized proposals, pricing strategies, and commercial presentations. Collaborate with operations, pricing, procurement, compliance, and customer service teams to deliver reliable, customer-focused solutions. Apply your knowledge of cold chain logistics, transit times, airline capacity, cargo handling, and temperature-sensitive transportation requirements. Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitive activity to identify new opportunities. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, customer meetings, and networking functions. Achieve sales targets, revenue goals, and profitability objectives while maintaining an accurate CRM and sales pipeline. What We're Looking For Proven experience in freight forwarding sales or logistics business development, preferably specializing in perishables. Industry knowledge involving flowers, fresh produce, seafood, live animals, pharmaceuticals, or other temperature-sensitive cargo. A strong understanding of cold chain logistics, cargo handling, transportation, storage, and distribution requirements. A demonstrated ability to prospect, develop customer relationships, negotiate agreements, and close new business. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. A self-motivated, results-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. English proficiency required; Spanish is highly preferred. Valid U.S. work authorization. A bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, International Trade, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred. Preferred Qualifications Established relationships within the Miami perishables market. An existing network of airlines, growers, importers, exporters, distributors, and logistics providers. Knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations and perishables handling standards. Experience with CargoWise or other freight forwarding systems. What's Offered Base salary of up to $115,000, depending on experience. Benefits package.
