Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas. Business Development - Automotive Develop and execute commercial growth strategies for the Polyolefins Business Division across the automotive sector. This role drives business development, OEM/Tier-1 specification wins, and qualification programs for polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) resins as well as engineered resins, translating automotive market trends into commercial volume and sustainable margin expansion. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY Market Development & OEM Strategy: Identify, qualify, and capture new commercial business within automotive OEMs, Tier-1 system suppliers, and specialized compounders. Material Specification & Approvals: Lead the qualification cycle for automotive polyolefin grades, securing inclusion on OEM internal material approved source lists (ASL/AML). Cross-Functional Program Execution: Partner closely with Technical Service, R&D, and Product Management to translate OEM technical specifications (e.g., impact/stiffness balance, low VOC/odor, lightweighting) into qualified production solutions. Value-Chain & Pipeline Management: Build and manage an opportunity pipeline from initial resin sampling through mold trials, PPAP approval, and SOP (Start of Production). Commercial Intelligence & Forecasting: Track vehicle platform production cycles, regulatory trends (e.g., sustainability, PCR mandates, electrification), competitor moves, and resin demand to build accurate volume forecasts and margin targets. QUALIFICATIONS Four-year college or university degree. Advance training programs and/or related experiences on Product Management, Sales/Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Customer Service Management, and Process/Procedure Development. 10+ years of commercial business development, technical sales, or application development experience in the plastics/petrochemical industry, with at least 5 years specifically dedicated to automotive OEMs and Tier-1 molders. Demonstrated track record of securing automotive material approvals and launching polyolefin programs (PP compounds, TPOs, high-flow interior/exterior/under-the-hood grades).
