Branch Operations Manager

Maintex, a family owned chemical manufacturer and distributor for the cleaning industry, located in Poway in the San Diego area, is currently seeking a Branch Operations Manager. You’ll run a Maintex branch. Safety, the warehouse, deliveries, inventory, and the branch budget are all yours. You’ll lead the drivers and warehouse associates who get customer orders out the door complete, accurate, and on time, and you’ll be the person sales and customers turn to when they need to know where an order stands. This isn’t a desk job. You’ll spend a lot of your day on the warehouse floor coaching, inspecting, and solving problems, and you’ll jump into receiving or loading yourself when volume spikes or someone’s out. What you’ll do Lead the team. Hire, train, schedule, and coach the branch’s drivers and warehouse associates. You’ll set clear standards for safety, accuracy, and productivity and hold the team to them fairly. Run the warehouse. Oversee receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and staging so orders ship complete and on time. Keep deliveries on track. Review daily routes from our central dispatch team before they go out, and resolve problems with stop order, delivery windows, or load capacity. You’ll also partner with the Transportation Manager on fleet costs and vehicle use. Own inventory accuracy. Run cycle counts, investigate variances and shrink, and work with purchasing and sales on stock levels. Take care of customers. Act as the main contact for order status, delivery timing, and shortages, and stay with service issues until they’re resolved. Lead on safety. Build a safety-first culture, conduct training and inspections, investigate incidents, and train and certify forklift operators under OSHA requirements. Manage the budget. Control labor, overtime, equipment, facility, and supply costs without sacrificing service. What you’ll bring 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in warehouse, distribution, transportation, or logistics Forklift certification and the experience to train and evaluate other operators Experience with inventory control and an ERP or warehouse management system Working knowledge of OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and DOT requirements for warehouse and delivery operations A valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets our insurance requirements Strong English communication skills for safety training, paperwork, and working with employees, drivers, customers, and regulators Nice to have Bachelor’s degree Experience reviewing delivery routes or working with a dispatch team Military experience, or a background leading teams in a structured environment with clear standards and accountability Our values At Maintex, we work by six core values: Integrity, Responsibility, Excellence, Respect, Teamwork, and Customer Focus.
