Branch Manager – Freight Forwarding / NVOCC

About the Role ALMARK USA LLC is developing its U.S. freight forwarding operation in South Florida as part of the international ALMARK logistics organization. We are looking for an experienced Branch Manager who can take ownership of building and managing our U.S. freight forwarding business. This is not a traditional operations-only role . The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day U.S. operation while also helping establish the commercial, operational, vendor, regulatory and technology infrastructure required to grow ALMARK USA. The Branch Manager will work closely with our established Turkey-based operations, pricing, finance, sales and technology teams. Our objective is to build a lean, technology-enabled and commercially focused U.S. freight forwarding organization , starting with ocean and air freight and expanding based on business volume. Key Responsibilities Take ownership of the day-to-day management and development of ALMARK USA. Manage and oversee ocean and air freight import/export operations. Develop U.S.–Turkey trade lane business while identifying additional international trade lane opportunities. Lead local sales and business development activities and develop relationships with U.S. importers, exporters, freight forwarders and international agents. Support quotations, pricing strategy, customer negotiations and shipment profitability. Build and maintain a strong U.S. vendor network including trucking, drayage, warehousing, bonded warehousing, co-loaders, DG providers, packing/crating companies, customs brokers and terminal partners. Coordinate FMC / OTI / NVOCC and other relevant forwarding registrations and applications together with appropriate legal and compliance specialists. Support insurance, surety bond and compliance setup. Participate in the selection and implementation of freight forwarding / TMS software. Coordinate setup of Customs Broker, CPA/accountant, payroll provider and other required service providers. Establish customer and vendor onboarding procedures and documentation. Establish terminal accounts, operational visibility and payment processes. Develop operational SOPs, workflows and escalation procedures. Monitor branch P&L, gross profit, operating expenses and commercial performance. Work closely with ALMARK’s Turkey-based back-office team and help establish clear workflows between Turkey and the U.S. Train and support Turkey-based operations, pricing, billing and sales personnel on U.S. freight forwarding practices. Work with ALMARK’s AI/automation team to identify repetitive administrative and operational processes that can be automated. Help determine future hiring needs as shipment volume and commercial activity grow. Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone with strong U.S. freight forwarding experience who is comfortable combining operations, commercial development and branch leadership . The ideal candidate will have experience in ocean and air freight, import/export operations, NVOCC/FMC requirements, pricing, vendor negotiations, customer development and branch P&L. Previous experience launching, building or significantly growing a freight forwarding branch or operation is highly preferred. Experience with systems such as CargoWise, Magaya or similar freight forwarding platforms is preferred. An existing logistics network in South Florida is a strong advantage. Eligibility or experience to serve as an FMC Qualifying Individual (QI) is a significant plus. Candidates should be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment where they will have meaningful responsibility for building the U.S. business rather than simply managing an established operation.
