Branch Manager – Fort Wayne, IN Hometown Filter | Full-Time, Salaried Position About Hometown Filter Hometown Filter is a family-owned and operated air filtration distribution business serving Northern Indiana and Western Michigan since 1982. We supply a wide range of filtration products for HVAC, industrial, and commercial applications, with a focus on quality products, dependable service, and strong customer relationships. We are seeking a motivated, organized, and hands-on Branch Manager to oversee daily operations at our Fort Wayne location. Position Overview The Branch Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Fort Wayne branch, including inventory management, purchasing, dispatching, warehouse coordination, and employee supervision. This role oversees a team of four employees and works closely with the Elkhart and Grand Rapids branches to coordinate inventory transfers and shared deliveries. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring active participation in daily warehouse operations. The Branch Manager is expected to work alongside the team, not simply oversee operations from a desk. What a Typical Day Looks Like Daily responsibilities will vary, but the Branch Manager should expect a combination of office, warehouse, and operational duties. This includes coordinating deliveries, managing inventory, assisting with order fulfillment, and working alongside employees to keep the branch running smoothly. Weekly semi-truck deliveries and periodic filter media shipments require a team effort. All employees, including the Branch Manager, are expected to help unload, move, count, and organize incoming products. This involves forklift and pallet jack coordination, as well as manually handling boxes and filter media rolls. At Hometown Filter, unloading trucks and keeping the warehouse organized is everyone's responsibility. The Branch Manager leads by example and is expected to be actively involved. Key Responsibilities Branch Operations & Team Leadership Oversee daily branch operations and coordinate the work of four employees: truck driver, warehouse associate, sales representative, and office administrator. Set daily priorities, delegate tasks, and ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently. Communicate with company ownership regarding operational needs and issues. Inventory Management & Purchasing Monitor inventory levels, identify replenishment needs, and place supplier orders. Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct periodic inventory counts. Coordinate with other branches to balance inventory and minimize unnecessary purchasing. Warehouse & Logistics Coordinate dispatching, delivery schedules, and routing to ensure timely customer deliveries. Oversee order picking, staging, loading, and warehouse organization. Assist with unloading weekly semi-truck deliveries alongside the team. Coordinate product transfers and shared deliveries with the Elkhart and Grand Rapids branches while maintaining efficient local operations. Customer Service & Sales Support Support the sales team in meeting customer needs and maintaining strong relationships. Help resolve order, inventory, and delivery issues. Coordinate with the office administrator and sales representative to ensure accurate order processing and communication. Qualifications Experience in operations, inventory management, warehousing, logistics, or distribution preferred. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is a plus. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory or order management systems. Ability to perform physical tasks, including unloading deliveries and handling filter products.
