Our customers count on us for quality products and dependable, responsive service, and that reputation is built by the people in our branches every day. Our Syracuse branch is growing with the Central New York market, and we're looking for an experienced, hands-on leader to run it. About the Role As Branch Manager, you'll own day-to-day operations at our 13,604-square-foot Syracuse distribution center. You'll lead a team of eight, keep orders moving accurately from receiving to delivery, protect inventory and company assets, and make sure the branch is organized, safe, and a good place to work. You'll report to the President and EVP and work closely with branch staff, our field sales reps, the VP of Purchasing, and our other branches. This role is for someone who sets a high standard, communicates clearly, and is as comfortable coaching an employee as solving a problem on the warehouse floor. What You'll Do Lead and develop the team Set clear expectations for the branch staff Direct daily work for office, warehouse, and delivery staff Run a short morning huddle each day and stay actively engaged with each team member Monitor productivity and performance, give timely feedback, and address issues early Hold regular one-on-one meetings; conduct performance reviews Lead hiring for branch positions and onboard new employees Know and apply company policies, and recommend merit increases and year-end bonuses to senior management Support sales and serve customers Partner with branch customer service as a point of contact for field sales reps Build strong customer relationships; serves as a point of contact for key, major accounts Oversee order fulfillment so customers receive the right product, on time Manage warehouse operations and logistics Work daily with the Warehouse Manager to plan and optimize delivery routes Managerial oversight of logistical operations (receiving, stocking, picking, loading, delivery) Coordinate with other Sanico branches on inventory transfers and resolve discrepancies Inventory Management Keep inventory records accurate through recurring cycle counts Manage the flow of inbound and outbound product Work with the VP of Purchasing on stock levels and replenishment Safety Promote and enforce OSHA compliance and safe work practices Make sure required staff certifications are current What Success Looks Like An engaged, accountable team with clear expectations and steady performance Accurate inventory with on-time, error-free deliveries A clean, organized, and safe facility Strong relationships with customers and sales reps, and a branch that grows profitably What You Bring Required Proven experience managing people Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to handle sensitive conversations and deliver constructive feedback professionally Preferred Experience in wholesale distribution or warehouse operations Experience with an ERP system (e.g., Acumatica, NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) Compensation & Benefits Base salary : $75,000 $85,000 Bonus : Year-end, based on company & branch profitability, Medical, dental, and vision coverage SIMPLE IRA with company match up to 3% Term life insurance Pet insurance Sanico, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
