Box Truck Driver Furniture Delivery

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and reliable Box Truck Driver specializing in furniture delivery to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting furniture and related items to residential and commercial customers, ensuring timely and damage-free deliveries. Your expertise in commercial driving, manual handling, and customer service will contribute to a seamless delivery experience. Duties Safely operate a box truck equipped for furniture delivery, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws. Load and unload furniture using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or dollies, practicing safe lifting practices at all times. Plan delivery routes efficiently using mobile devices or route planning tools to optimize time and fuel consumption. Deliver furniture items directly to customers’ homes or businesses, providing excellent customer service by ensuring a positive experience. Communicate professionally with customers upon arrival, confirm delivery details, and address any questions or concerns. Inspect the vehicle regularly for safety issues, perform basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical problems promptly. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including delivery logs, load/unload records, and incident reports when necessary. Requirements Proven experience as a delivery driver, courier, or box truck driver with a focus on furniture or heavy item deliveries. Must Pass a Backgrownd Check Must have a DOT Medical Card Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience driving preferred. Warehouse experience with familiarity in warehouse operations, manual handling, and material handling equipment operation such as pallet jacks. Ability to lift heavy furniture items safely while following proper manual lifting practices. Knowledge of DOT regulations related to commercial vehicle operation and weight handling in the workplace. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Experience with route driving using mobile devices or GPS systems for navigation. Ability to work with a driver helper in a physically demanding environment while maintaining safety standards.
