Box Truck Driver

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Box Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team in Sterling, Va. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating box trucks to transport freight and electrical goods. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, route navigation, and cargo handling will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Duties Safely operate a 24-26ft Box Truck following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Plan and execute delivery routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines. Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo safety and proper placement. Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered on the route. Skills Proven experience in non CDL box trucks Proficiency with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments. Ability to load & unload cargo efficiently while adhering to safety standards for manual handling. Familiarity with DOT regulations, FMCSA guidelines, and hazard communication protocols. Experience with truck loading/unloading equipment such as lift gates or pallet jacks is a must. Strong driving skills with a focus on safety, compliance, and customer service excellence.
