Job Summary Hiring Dedicated Box Truck Driver non-CDL (Coram) New Amsterdam Freight Line Co. Full-time job title: Truck Driver We are New Amsterdam Freight Line Co. a small independent transportation company located in Coram, NY, looking for one dependable, reliable, professional Box Truck Driver to operate our dedicated 26 ft box truck (non-CDL under 26,000 lbs.), for local and regional runs throughout Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Because we are small operation, you won't get lost in a corporate system. You will work directly with ownership, drive well-maintained equipment, and have a steady, predictable income. Truck parked in a secure gated lot, must have reliable transportation to the lot. To beat the heavy traffic, maximize your day, and get home safely. early morning and midnight departures are core part of this job. Flexible regional routing. Equipment: Well-maintained 26 ft box trucks with liftgate, pallet jack, load bars, GPS, E-log, dashcam. Schedule and start time: To ensure timely deliveries and completely bypass the worst of NYC, LIE, I-95 gridlock, prompt early departures are strictly required. Freight handling expectations: Loading Logistics: At the warehouse dock, forklifts bring the load to the tail of the truck. The driver uses a pallet jack to move it into place inside the box. Unloading logistics: Unload directly onto a dock when possible or utilize the vehicle's liftgate for ground-level deliveries. For heavy loads, bring the freight to the tail of the truck for forklift pick up. Job Requirements: License: Valid Driver's License (no CDL required) Medical: Valid DOT Medical Card (or able to pass physical exam prior to hire) Experience: Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience of a large box truck, moving trucks or commercial delivery vehicles preferred.). Night/early morning driving: Must be fully comfortable driving and navigating safely during midnight and pre-dawn hours. Reliability: Clean driving record (MVR), background check, and DOT-compliant drug screening. Pay: $250.00 - $300.00 per day Work Location: In person
