Box Truck Driver

Job Summary As a Box Truck Driver, you’ll transport freight and automobile shipments safely and reliably. You’ll plan routes with GPS navigation, complete delivery stops, and handle cargo from loading through delivery. The role may involve local or over-the-road (OTR) routes and, where applicable, some lifting, and moving, loading and unloading may be required, Careful driving and cargo handling help customers receive their shipments safely and on schedule. Good driving record is a must, must be able to operate a pallet jack. Duties Drive box trucks and other assigned commercial vehicles on delivery and route-driving assignments. Load, secure, transport, and unload freight; use safe manual handling practices. Follow assigned routes using GPS navigation and report delivery or route issues promptly. Inspect vehicles and cargo before, during, and after trips; complete required records. Follow Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, including applicable hazardous materials rules. Requirements Valid driver’s license and qualifications required for the assigned vehicle and routes. Commercial truck driving, commercial driving, truck driving, delivery driving, or delivery driver experience is preferred. Ability to operate a manual transmission and safely load and unload cargo. Knowledge of logistics cargo handling, freight, and automobile transportation is helpful. Hazmat (hazardous materials) or dangerous goods experience is preferred; experience with refrigerated trailers, tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and OTR routes is a plus.
