Box Truck Driver

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Box Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating box trucks to deliver freight and goods across various routes, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, route navigation, and cargo handling will contribute to our commitment to exceptional service. Responsibilities Safely operate box trucks, including those with manual transmissions, on local and over-the-road (OTR) routes following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured correctly for transport. Navigate using GPS systems to follow designated routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and safety standards. Transport various types of freight, including hazardous materials (Hazmat), dangerous goods, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers as required. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns. Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and compliance records related to hazardous materials regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or freight transportation with a focus on route driving. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for transporting dangerous goods. Ability to operate trucks with manual transmission and handle logistics cargo handling efficiently. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time directions. Experience with refrigerated trailers or specialized equipment such as flatbeds or tankers is a plus. Strong manual handling skills for loading/unloading cargo safely and effectively.
