BOX TRUCK DRIVER

Responsibilities Safely operate box trucks, tractor-trailers, or similar commercial vehicles following FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to ensure on-time deliveries across designated OTR routes. Load and unload freight, including hazardous materials (hazmat) or dangerous goods, adhering strictly to hazardous materials regulations. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Load cargo securely using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper weight distribution and compliance with logistics cargo handling standards. Deliver freight accurately to customers or distribution centers, managing delivery documentation and obtaining signatures as required. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle inspections in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Requirements Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or freight transportation with a focus on truck loading and unloading. Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., CDL preferred but not mandatory for certain box trucks). Knowledge of truck driving safety protocols, DOT regulations, and hazardous materials regulations. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and use GPS navigation systems effectively. Experience with flatbed trucks is a plus but not required. Strong manual handling skills for loading/unloading cargo safely and efficiently. Excellent route driving skills with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service excellence.
